Bindrunes and Runescripts for Magick and Spellwork

The Elder Futhark can be worked with for a variety of magickal purposes. In this class we will discuss the creation of Bindrunes and Runescripts and their applications for a wide range of magickal goals. We will analyze examples and discuss potential pitfalls, as well as the potential meanings of the 24 Runes to familiarize ourselves with the energies we will be working with in the creation of our own Runic spells and magicks.

We will then spend time experimenting and creating our own Bindrunes and Runescripts for the magickal purpose of our choosing. We will take time to discuss together and share our creations if desired. Finally, we will take part in the Ritual of Naming to consecrate, name and empower our work.

Each participant will leave this workshop with a named and empowered Bindrune or Runescript of their own making. Please bring notetaking supplies.

Diane Awenydd-Evans is a third degree Initiate of the Assembly of the Sacred Wheel and the High Priestess of the Weavers of the Moonfire, the Fire Coven of the Circle of Pisces in the Assembly. She is the author of the Blessing of the Waters and No More Stolen Sisters, annual Community Rituals offered as acts of service by the Weavers of the Moonfire.

Diane has taught at Spring Magick and at Sacred Space Conference, as well as in her own community of Pottstown, PA.  She is a member of her local UU Fellowship and offers service at that fellowship quarterly. Diane is a trained massage therapist and shamanic practitioner, a graduate of Gryphon’s Grove school of Shamanism and studies many forms of healing. She works extensively with the Elder Futhark for divination and magick.
